Sharona Drake & Chicago Pearl Mentoring Presents, “Queens of The Westside”
Come celebrate and support the young women of the Chicago PEARL mentoring organization as the mentees themselves share the stage with Sharona Drake, Teccara Carmack, Music Reloaded, Michaela Thurston, Shay, and more! It will be a night of poetry, singing, dance, stepping, and “royal” fun!

Chicago Pearl is a female mentorship program that serves over 150 young women (junior high to college) in Chicago. Pearl is quoted as saying, “Our young women are leaders of today and tomorrow”.
PEARL strongly believes that developing life-long relationships with our students will offset the negative external pressures they face in school, in media, and on the streets.
This relationship includes:
Mentoring from positive community role models Encouraging guidance and support from PEARL/YMEN staff Tracking grades and working with school counselors Communicating frequently with the child’s parents Visiting colleges and universities nationwide Tutoring in all academic subjects. Providing life-skill training (i.e. budgeting, cooking, sewing, driving, etc.) Conducting Bible studies
