Sho Baraka Releases Surprise Album! “The Narrative 2: Pianos and Politics”

Last year Sho Baraka released “The Narrative” which as far as we’re concerned was one of the “Albums of The Year” that you need to check out if you haven’t yet!  Check it out here if you missed it.

In that album, Sho fused the sounds of soul, jazz and gospel, with a delivery that included the live instrumentation of horns, drums, guitar and keys, with the balance of great lyricism and mature content.  Sho speaks on The Narrative about his origin story, his faith, love and fatherhood, while addressing the issues of social injustice, politics, poverty and the complex issues of American history.  One listener summed it up well calling the album a “socially conscious, creative, and theologically faithful piece of art”.

On July 27th, Sho Baraka did it again by releasing a surprise album for us all! “The Narrative Volume 2: Pianos and Politics” is here!  …and it’s just as great as Volume One.

In the video for his newest single, “Pedantic”, he begins by saying… “We live in a day where there’s a lot of information, but I don’t know if it’s making us wiser.”

This new album includes four new songs and two remixes which are both available on the Humble Beast website and iTunes.  You can stream the EP below.
